I grew up inside a fishing family in India — water, fish, and aquatic life were never abstract concepts for me. They were daily reality. My Master's in Zoology gave that lived experience a scientific framework. FishioHub is where both meet: a place built for anyone who keeps, studies, or simply loves freshwater aquariums.

From a Fishing Family to a Freshwater Aquarium Specialist

I was born into a traditional fishing family in India. Before I could name a single species by its scientific name, I already knew how fish behaved — how they moved in still water versus current, how shrimp foraged at the substrate, how snails cleaned tank walls without being asked. This was not study. This was life.

When I pursued my Master's degree in Zoology, something clicked. Everything I had observed as a child — the behavior, the biology, the ecological relationships — suddenly had names, mechanisms, and scientific context. I could explain why a cherry shrimp molted, not just that it did.

FishioHub was born from that intersection. I noticed that most freshwater aquarium content online fell into two traps: either it was too shallow and hobbyist-casual, or too academic and disconnected from the practical reality of actually maintaining a tank. I decided to write guides I personally wished existed — grounded in zoological science but written for real aquarium keepers.

Experience & Education

Childhood
Grew up in a fishing family, India
Daily hands-on exposure to fish species, shrimp, crabs, and freshwater ecosystems — long before formal study began.
Academic
Master's Degree in Zoology
Formal scientific training in animal biology, ecology, anatomy, and aquatic species behavior — the academic backbone of every article on this site.
Hobbyist
Freshwater aquarium keeping — personal practice
Years of hands-on experience keeping freshwater fish, shrimp, snails, and planted tanks. The practical ground truth behind every guide.
2025 – Now
Founded FishioHub.com
Launched FishioHub to bring science-backed, plain-language freshwater aquarium content to hobbyists worldwide. Now a dedicated freshwater aquarium resource with 90+ detailed articles.

What FishioHub Covers

Every article is written from zoological training and personal keeping experience. These are the core areas:

🐟
Freshwater Fish Care
Species profiles, tank mates, feeding, breeding and disease — backed by zoological science, not guesswork.
🦐
Freshwater Shrimp
Cherry shrimp, Amano, Ghost shrimp and more — care, molting, breeding, tank compatibility and water parameters.
🐌
Aquarium Snails
Mystery, Nerite, Ramshorn, Rabbit and Assassin snails — care guides, breeding, behavior and tank roles.
🌿
Aquatic Plants
Growing, planting, and maintaining live plants — from easy beginner species to planted aquascapes.
🪨
Aquascaping
Layout principles, substrate, hardscape, and design styles for creating beautiful, balanced freshwater setups.
💧
Tank Setup & Water Quality
Filtration, cycling, ammonia control, pH, parameters — the science of keeping tank water healthy for every inhabitant.

How I Approach Every Article

Experience
I grew up around aquatic life and have personally kept freshwater tanks for years. I write from what I've done, not just what I've read.
Expertise
My Master's in Zoology means I can analyze aquatic biology scientifically — species behavior, water chemistry, and ecology are not abstract to me.
Authoritativeness
Every guide draws on peer-reviewed zoology, established fishkeeping literature, and my own documented observations — never speculation.
Trustworthiness
I correct errors when I find them. I don't recommend products I haven't researched. I write what will genuinely help your tank, not what drives clicks.

📋 A Note About Older FishioHub Content

FishioHub's earlier content (published before 2025) covered broader topics including seafood nutrition, fishing gear, marine species, and saltwater fishing — areas that connected to my zoology background but sat outside freshwater aquariums. That content remains available in the archive and continues to serve readers searching those topics.

Since 2025, FishioHub has been exclusively focused on freshwater aquariums — fish care, shrimp, snails, aquatic plants, aquascaping, and tank setup. All new content going forward follows this dedicated niche.

"Every article I publish on FishioHub is something I would have wanted to read myself — when I was setting up my first tank, troubleshooting cloudy water at midnight, or trying to understand why my shrimp weren't breeding. I write for that person."
